The Flying of Eagles Nigeria have set up a quarter-final match against the Hippos of Uganda at the ongoing U-20 African cup of Nations in Egypt.
Flying Eagles finished 2nd behind Senegal in group A while the Hippos top group B with five points from three matches.
The Nigeria U-2O lost their first match to the young Lions of Teranga at the Cairo International stadium, but bounce back to beat the hosts, Egpyt before finishing up their group games with a victory over Moçambique.
Nigeria remain the most successful team at the U-20 of the AFCON and they are on course for another title, but the Hippos' head coach, Jackson Mayanja has said that he's unperturbed about drawing Nigeria's Flying Eagles in the quarter-finals.
Speaking shortly after their last group game against South Sudan which ended in a goalless draw, the Uganda coach, Mayanja, stated that he's ready to take on any team and that his goal is to qualify for the FIFA U-20 world cup.
He said, “My goal here in this tournament is to take this team to the World Cup."
The quarter-final match will take place on March 2nd, and March 3rd live on CitySports NG Youtube channel and it would be the second quarter-final match of the day.
Meanwhile, Group c leader, Gambia will be playing South Sudan, one of the 3rd best teams. South Sudan U-20 finished with four points behind Uganda and Congo.
Senegal who finished top of group A will face Benin, as the Beninoirs finished third in Group C with two points, just one better than Zambia who lost their final group games to Tunisia by two goals to one.
