I Am A Man, Not A Woman - Convicted Bobrisky Clears The Air About His Gender

Popular Nigerian socialite and cross-dresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, has clarified his gender, telling the Federal High Court in Lagos that, he is a man and not a woman.

Bobrisky gender status, and the pronoun he should be described with has been confusing since the rumour of his plastic surgery and body enhancement surgeries.

However, before he was convicted and sentenced on Friday at the Lagos High Court over naira mutilation, the controversial social media personality declared that he's a man.

The presiding judge, Justice Abimbola Awogboro, asked shortly before he [Bobrisky] was sentenced, what is your gender? “I am a man,” Idris quickly replied.

Bobrisky was convicted and sentenced to a six months imprisonment without an option of fine for abusing the Naira.

The judge ruled that the sentence would commence from March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest and he will serve his jail term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.

Bobrisky was convicted on April 5 after pleading guilty to a four-count charge of naira abuse brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The four count charges include incidents of tampering with N400,000 at Imax Circle Mall in Jakande, Lekki; N50,000 at Aja Junction in Ikorodu; N20,000 at White Steve Event Hall in Ikeja; and another N20,000 at an event hall in Oniru, Victoria Island, all between 2022 and 2023
