Morocco 2023 | Guinea Beat Olympic Eagles 2-0 To Qualify U-23 AFCON

Nigeria's U-23 national team tagged the Olympic Eagles have failed to qualify for this year's African Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco.

Guinea defeated their Nigerian counterparts 2-0 after a goalless draw played a week ago in Nigeria.

The Salisu Yusuf-led Eagles failed to convert their chances with the first 45 minutes ending in goalless, but the Guineans came back in the second half scoring two goals which silenced the Nigerian Olympic Eagles.

Second-half goals from Algassime Bah and Alseny Soumah sealed the qualification in Rabat, Morocco.

Guinea booked their spot on Tuesday after they had recorded a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Abuja.

This result means the Eagles will not play at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The team has also failed to qualify for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo after failing to go past the group stage of the U-23 AFCON.

The 2023 U-23 AFCON will be hosted by Morocco between June 24 and July 8, 2023.
