Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign Council spokesperson, Barrister Kenneth Okonkwo, has urged members of the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) to prevail on the party's presidential candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to step down from the 2023 presidential election race.
Okonkwo, a lawyer, and veteran Nollywood actor, while speaking on the recent incident in Kano where some irate youth were mauling President Muhammadu Buhari's chopper with Stones, blamed the incident on Tinubu.
The President’s convoy and a chopper that flew him were targeted by angry citizens, mostly youths, in Katsina and Kano States.
Okonkwo stated that Tinubu has committed anti-party activities against APC “more than any member”.He also said the former Lagos governor accused the Nigerian leader of using fuel scarcity and naira scarcity to scuttle ambition.
Mr. Kenneth urged APC members to prevail on Tinubu to “step down” for Peter Obi who he described as a “competent man of character who will engender a new Nigeria.”
