Ibadan | How Three Security Men Gang Raped A Lady For 4-Hours, Muslim Youths Protest Alleged Rape Of Woman In A Mosque

Three security guards have been arrested for gang-raping a lady for four hours after which she was forced to transfer money from her account into a bank account.

This was as some Muslim clerics and youths were protesting the alleged rape of another woman inside a mosque in Ibadan.

Parading the suspects who gang-raped the lady, the Oyo State Police Command through his Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, told newsmen at the command headquarters in Eleyele on Monday, how the lady was accosted at a desolate spot and whisked to another place where she was humiliated.

Narrating the rape victim's ordeal, Osifeso said, "A lady (name withheld), went to visit her friend at Alakia, Ibadan, and on getting to the community around 9 pm, she was accosted at a desolate spot by three-night security guards.

“In a rather twisted turn of events, the young lady, having been dispossessed of her mobile phone, was whisked to another desolate spot, where she was held till about 01.25 am till the next day.

“In furtherance of the above, the three guards took turns to have unlawful carnal knowledge of the young lady and as well forced her to transfer money into a bank account before she was abandoned to her fate at the scene.

“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime. One Dane gun, which they used for the criminal activity, and the Infinix mobile phone belonging to the victim, were recovered from the suspects,” the police spokesman added.

Muslim Youths, Leaders Protest Alleged Rape Of A Woman Inside A Mosque

In a related report, some Muslim youths, scholars, and organizations in the Oyo State capital, have staged a protest over the alleged rape of a Muslim lady in one of the mosques in Ibadan.

CityNews gathered that a Muslim lady, who was in purdah, was allegedly raped inside a mosque in the Iwo Road area of Ibadan on Sunday.

According to a source, “An unfortunate incident happened on Sunday in Ibadan when the son of a road transport union sneaked into a mosque and raped a niqobite.

“This then prompted the concerned Muslim leaders to stage the protest on Monday.”

The concerned Muslims were led in the protest by an Ibadan-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Amubieya.

A source also confirm to CityNews that the suspect, identified as Idris also known as Kesari, the son of a union leader known as Al-Majiri, has been apprehended by the Police. (The Police is yet to confirm the arrest)

He said, “The thug who raped a niqobite (Muslim lady in veil) has been identified as Idris, also known as Kesari.

“He is the son of a union leader known as Al-Majiri. He was arrested by the police and the case has now been transferred to the State CID”.

The city of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state has been trending for various reasons in the past week. While costs of housing were the trending topic last week, this week has been characterized by rape.
